Festival update: They split in 2009 but they’re back for rock and prog event alongside Priest, Dream Theater and Queensryche

Thunder

Back for more: Thunder

Thunder will reunite for a one-off appearance at the High Voltage Festival in London’s Victoria park in July.

The band split two years ago but singer Danny Bowes says: “I can’t lie – I’ve missed being in the band more than I thought I would. So when the call came last week I was keen to explore the possibility.

“It will be great to play again and we’re really excited.”

The band stress it’s a one-off: they all have other projects including drummer Harry James’ commitments with Magnum and guitarist Luke Morley’s new outfit The Union.

High Voltage will host Dream Theater’s first show without former mainman Mike Portnoy and Judas Priest on their last-ever world tour.

The festival has also added Queensryche, Neal Morse, Saint Jude, Anathem and Curved Air to the bill.
