Seattle stars accidentally announce Little Angels reunion, Machine Head, Biffy Clyro, Anthrax and more for tenth anniversary Donington rock festival
Soundgarden have accidentally revealed more details about the 2012 Download Festival bill than they were supposed to when they confirmed their own appearance at the iconic UK event.
The Seattle outfit revealed Little Angels have reformed for the festival’s tenth anniversary while Machine Head, Biffy Clyro, Anthrax, Trivium, Lamb of God, Devin Townsend Project, DevilDriver, Ugly Kid Joe and August Burns Red are already signed up.
When Soundgarden announced they’d be appearing at the three-day festival, a band representative uploaded a picture of an early-stages promo poster to their Facebook page, which gave away more than organisers Live Nation intended.
As fans joked about the band having given too much away, booker Andy Copping was unusually silent on his busy Twitter account. His last post at time of publication was: “Happy?” Around the time of the leak the festival account said: “Fair to say that Download 2012 is going to be one intense ride.” The official website retained a blanked-out version of the poster only listing headliners Black Sabbath, Metallica and The Prodigy, while its lineup page showed last year’s bill.
Donington Park is the site of the legendary Monsters Of Rock series of shows. Live Nation took the event over in 2002 and have presented nine successful multi-day events since then. This year the show takes place on June 8-10.
