Stevie likes to prepare while Rod doesn’t, so she’ll need to compromise ahead of duet tour, says proud eight-time father
Stevie Nicks will have to live with compromise ahead of her tour with Rod Stewart, says the British singer, because she likes to rehearse and he doesn’t.
Stewart has just become a dad for the eighth time after wife Penny Lancaster gave birth to a boy called Aiden on Wednesday. The proud dad already has plenty on his plate for this year including his upcoming tour with Nicks and a long-awaited album with former bandmate Jeff Beck.
He reports: “In the Faces we never rehearsed. I always liked there to be an element of risk in any show. When things go wrong I love it – so we’ll have to meet in the middle.”
Meanwhile, recording work with Beck will continue during the tour. “He’s going to record some tracks with his band in San Fransisco and send them to me,” Stewart explains. “So we’re making progress.”
The project marks the pair’s first album collaboration since 1969′s Beck-ola, and those who have heard early demos say the music is closer to that era’s music than the more pop-oriented material Stewart has fronted since then.
