29-year-old arson accused blames rock acts for inspiring her to criminal act and insists family were planning to kill her
A 29-year-old woman accused of arson has become the latest person to claim rock music made her do it.
Christina Paz of Cileo Vista, Texas, says Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails inspired her to try to burn down her parents’ house.
After she became convinced they were trying to kill her on Christmas Day, she’s believed to have set fire to a bed covered in flammable glue then attempted to light a set of curtains in another room.
Court papers say Paz “was angry at her parents for trying to kill her, that they had planned to sodomise her and chop her up with the help of a neighbour.”
Asked how she became aware of the alleged plot, she replied: “Through the music of Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails.”
It’s not the first time Manson has been named in a death bid. He was blamed by some for the Columbine massacre in 1999 where two pupils killed 12 colleagues and a teacher before ending their own lives.
On 2009 album The High End of Low Manson sang: “Fuck the TV and the radio” then “I’m gonna take credit for the death toll.” He explained: “It’s all I get blamed for. So if I’m going to get blamed for it, I want credit for it.”

This is just pathetic. Its not the music that makes people do this. It’s extremely pathetic people who need to put the blame on someone else. In my opinion mr manson and mr reznor should not be blamed for this they are both highly intelligent induviduals who make music so people can. Relate to it, not to act apon it. If that was the case then there would be a lot more crazy people out and about since there are many more psycho songs and bands out there. These two people are just more famous. I would wager if this young disturbed lady heard of icp then she would blane them. Are these people trying to outlaw amazing music? Before you blame music look in the mirror and see just how much your responsible.
I’m under timothy dean for anyone who has sonething wise to say about this.
