Ex-Beatle Paul asks for Dave’s advice as he considers copying Foo Fighters’ garage album concept for his heavy rock project
Paul McCartney is planning to make a heavy rock album – and he’s asked Dave Grohl for tips on how to ago about it.
The ex-Beatle is attracted to the notion of recording in a garage, like the Foo Fighters did with their current album Wasting Light.
He tells Rolling Stone: “A heavier rock album sounds quite wacky, but it keeps it fresh.
“I love what Dave did. I love that you get a crazy idea and go with it. You never know, I may run into a garage and make this album. But it won’t be in Dave’s garage.”
Meanwhile, Grohl has admitted he still looks after his finances in case his musical career collapses without notice.
He tells The Big Issue: “When Nirvana first become popular my father said, ‘Treat every cheque like it’s the last one you’re going to get, because this isn’t going to last.
“I still do. It’s burned into my brain – I’m a high-school dropout and if this ever ends I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
