Reunion rumours rise again as original lineup’s induction is confirmed alongside Chilis, Beasties, Faces, Donovan, Freddie King and Don Kirshner

Guns n’Roses reunion rumours have exploded again after it was confirmed the band will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame next year.

The original lineup will receive recognition on their first year of eligibility, 25 years after the release of their debut record.

Axl Rose, Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler will be inducted alongside the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Beastie Boys, the Small Faces and the Faces, Donovan, Freddie King and late TV producer Don Kirshner.

The 27th annual event takes place on April 14, 2012, at the Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. While all members of GnR may be invited, it’s not yet known who will turn up – or if they’ll perform together for the first time since Adler’s departure in 1992.

Before the announcement, singer Rose said: “I don’t know what it means in terms of me with the old band and the old lineup. If we were to be invited, I don’t know what they would ask of me. It’s up in the air.”

Adler, who was sacked for his drug addiction issues before all the other original members except Rose left, told Rolling Stone: “You figure time heals all wounds – but some people just really hold a crazy grudge.”
